Regional Australia Minister Simon Crean and Victorian Minister for Regional and Rural Development Peter Ryan today called for community volunteers to represent Regional Development Australia (RDA) committees in Victoria.
Individuals with community, industry or government experience and knowledge of local challenges are encouraged to submit an expression of interest to represent their local RDA committee.

The valuable contribution made by communities toward fire prevention and preparedness
across Victoria has been recognised at the 25th annual Fire Awareness Awards this evening.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Bushfire Response Peter Ryan said the awards attracted a
large number of entries this year as communities demonstrated both innovative and proactive
initiatives ahead of the fire season.
