Further to the Premiers media release on 15 July (link below) that provided information regarding future arrangements for the Bushfire Appeal Fund, below is some additional information regarding next steps:

The  Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund Panel has recently set aside some money to meet the medium and long term needs of bushfire affected communities. A new community advisory committee made up of community members from bushfire affected areas will provide advice to the Panel on medium to long term recovery needs.

  • The VBAF Panel, in its current form, has a final meeting in August where it will examine a final set of community projects from the $43M community rebuilding initiative
  • The Premier announced a new Panel in early July and it is expected they will meet during September where it will consider amongst other things, the role, make-up and appointment of the Community Advisory Committee (CAC).
  • This will be communicated broadly when it is decided.
